Stress as a cause of aging
Animals in nature live under constant stress of survival, and although we humans usually don't have to worry about being eaten by wild animals, we still have other things that give us stress such as financial worries, relationship problems, fear about what other people think and even fear about aging itself. I suspect that the chronic stress in both humans and animals is the main cause of biological aging.

Re: Stress as a cause of aging
I just came to think about something, that stress is basically caused by a fear of things going bad. And that fear in turn is what is upholding the stress! Therefore it could be a good idea to start questioning the fundamental belief in that fear. What if the fear itself is what causes things to go bad?

Is it possible for you to fail? That question reveals a fundamental belief in the world today. Failure in anything. It is that belief that, in combination with desires, primarily drives most people's behavior. And that belief is the root cause of stress. What if we can fail only because we have been programmed with the belief that we can fail?
